Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plan

Lafayette is committed to the prevention of discharges of oil to navigable waters and the environment, and maintains the applicable standards for spill prevention, control and countermeasures through regular review, updating and implementation of a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC)/Preparedness Prevention and Contingency (PPC) Plan for the campus.

The Plan covers procedures, methods and equipment in order to prevent the discharge of oil into or upon navigable waters of the United States, as defined in EPA’s Oil Pollution Prevention regulations (40 CFR 112). This Plan includes procedures and guidance for the prevention, detection and response to spills or releases of oils.  The purpose of the Plan is to prevent oil spills from occurring, and to perform safe, efficient and timely response in the event of a spill or leak.
