Our Mission

To provide a safe and secure living, learning, and working environment for members of the Lafayette College community.

In partnership with the community we serve – striving always to merit the community’s trust, confidence, and respect – the Department of Public Safety accomplishes its mission by providing a full range of services that meet the highest professional standards and are founded on:

• Trust and Legitimacy
• Policy and Oversight
• Technology and Social Media
• Community Policing and Crime Reduction
• Officer Wellness and Safety
• Training and Education

These include police and security services, parking and transportation services, and environmental, health and safety services.

The department also works collaboratively with local, county, state, and/or federal law enforcement and other agencies in an effort to provide safer communities together.
