Lafayette College makes every attempt to provide easily accessible transportation to enrolled students through the following options.

Free Shuttle Bus Service

The Lafayette College Area Transportation (LCAT) shuttle has an expansive schedule that connects the main campus with the College’s athletic fields, downtown Easton, local shopping areas, movie theaters, and the local bus station. The LCAT Shuttle also provides transportation between campus and the Lehigh Valley International Airport on designated days. Check out the live online tracking system to see where the LCAT Shuttle is right now. You can also access it on your mobile device no matter where you are by clicking the “Shuttle” button on the Lafayette College mobile homepage.

LCAT Shuttle Services

Car Share Program

Two vehicles are available on campus (in designated spots in the lot adjacent to March Field) that can be rented by students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through UHaulCarShare, a leading car share and car club service. These fuel-efficient vehicles can be rented by students, staff, and faculty for a low hourly (or daily) rate depending on your needs.

he availability of the LCAT shuttle and the Car Share program eliminates the need to bring a car to campus during the academic year. By not bringing a car to campus, students reduce their environmental impact and save significant money as compared to car ownership.

Parking

Even with these resources, some students may wish or need to have access to their own cars while at Lafayette. All students who wish or need to have their own car while attending Lafayette must register the vehicle with the Office of Public Safety regardless of where it will be parked. If applying for a parking permit, you must pay the applicable fee. On-campus parking assignments are generally allocated to seniors and juniors residing on campus; the assignments are as near as possible to the student’s place of residence. Sophomores and first-year-students are generally assigned to the off-campus parking facility.

Students should be mindful of their assigned parking spot/areas to avoid parking fines or towing. Parking fines are billed directly to your student account and are payable immediately. Additional information about student car policies and regulations is available under the Vehicle Registration section of the Office of Public Safety website.

Student Driving of College-Insured Vehicles

Under certain circumstances and with the required authorizations and approvals, students may be qualified to drive a College-owned vehicle or a car rented by the College.
