The College has several partnerships to assist in the provision of transportation both the immediate area and throughout the Lehigh Valley. We encourage students not to drive whenever possible and to utilize these no cost options.
LCAT
Over the summer, the College embarked on a competitive bid process for our Lafayette College Area Transportation (LCAT) service. As a result, Easton Coach Company will now be providing this service.
LCAT provides students with a free, safe, and reliable shuttle bus service connecting the main campus with the College’s athletic fields, downtown Easton, the Lehigh Valley International Airport and the primary student parking areas. Routes/schedules may be viewed on our website or at the live online tracking system. You can also access it on your mobile device no matter where you are by clicking the “Shuttle” button on the Lafayette College mobile homepage.
The Special shuttle (LVI Airport) will be operating this Saturday, August 24 and Sunday August 25 for those who have made reservations. Effective Monday, August 26 the Weekday and Metzgar shuttles will be operating at their normal schedules.
The new shuttle fleet are ADA accessible and will be marked, equipped with exterior digital signage, Ride Systems GPS tracking, emergency kits and bicycle racks.
LANta
As a reminder, the College and the Lehigh and Northampton Transit Authority (LANta) are in partnership to provide transportation at no cost to current students, faculty and staff with a valid Lafayette College ID (scanned when boarding). LANta bus service operates 363 days a year and provides reliable and consistent access to the Easton Bus Terminal, with stops along Cattell Street on College Hill as well as the Giant Plaza and Weis Market in Forks Township using Route Number 214.
24-passenger Shuttle Reservation
In addition, departments/organizations that would like to reserve a 24-passenger shuttle, for a special event, through Easton Coach Company can do so by completing our on-line Shuttle Request form. You will be contacted by a member of the Easton Coach staff to confirm your reservation. There is a four hour minimum and ten day advance for requests. Please be sure to enter the appropriate account numbers so that your department will be charged at the new negotiated rate of 69.00 per hour (276.00 minimum charge) and allow plenty of lead time to book the reservation.
U-Haul Car Share
The U-Haul Car Share program remains available for short-term vehicle rentals. This is a convenient way for members of the community whose destination or travel timing can’t be met by the shuttle or by using LANta.
